I have known Gina and her amazing family for the last five years, since moving to San Francisco. We worked together at Symantec when I was doing the 9-5′er and shooting on weekends, and she has helped encourage me and my business every step of the way. I have taken a few snapshots of her kiddos, but we’ve never done a “real shoot” where we actually plan outfits, plan locations and – gasp – get her awesome hubby involved too! We decided we’d start at their newly-built home in Los Gatos (her hubby Dan is seriously off-the-chains talented – company is DJB Construction and their house belongs in Architectural Digest), then head to a local park where we could let the kids run around and be kids.

Let me start by saying I’ve never seen a brother-sister combo like Jake and Stella. As in…never. Parents, if your kids are an iota like them, please, please stop reading this and start thanking your lucky stars. They were ridiculously cute together – Jake (older brother) trying to impress Stella, and Stella hanging on to his…every…word. If Jake jumps on the bed, Stella jumps on the bed…if Jake climbs in the tub, guess who is his shadow scrambling in beside him? And the best parts?? They hug…they laugh…they hold hands – it’s this crazy concept that they actually like each other!! I couldn’t get enough of them.

Oh, and the parents? Not too shabby either. Aside from them being unfairly (okay, it’s not a word…but you know what I mean) good looking, they live for their kids. As Gina says, “come Friday at 5:00, they own me”!

So enough mush about this wonderful family. Thank you, Boyd Family, for letting me walk into your lives and capture your precious little-big kids.
